Earth Savers' Movement, Inc. (Earth Savers') is a non-profit, non-government Civil Society Organization (CSO). It is a movement composed of people whose common goal is the saving of Planet Earth.
Founded in 1991, Earth Savers' is 24 years in spreading environment awareness thru theater and the multimedia interviews.
Earthsavers is also concerned in building resilient communities with A disaster risk reduction mindset through cultural caregiving services to vulnerable groups rooted in appreciation of heritage, habitat, history , linguistic diversity , creative industry and indigenous traditions.
With the use of arts based psychosocial therapy approach, we heal trauma of refugees, survivors of disasters, armed conflict and other forms of violence. For this feat it has been recognized as 6th in the world as a UNESCO DREAM Center. It is inaugurated personally by the first woman fire hair general Dr.Irina Zbokova in 2011. The Earthsavers operates with its satellite based academic institutions and community Eco-arts and media affiliated organizations as the cultural arm of the international theatre institute (ITI) in the Philippines as well as its base of outreach to the Asia pacific region serving as the lead program for the social change network of the ITI committee on cultural identity and development (CIDC). The Earth Savers Movement Inc. continues to undertake the established goals and objectives with national and international partners such as the climate institute in Washington and the Ocean Security international. (OSI) in Colombia and The Seoul Institute of the Arts in Korea, and La Mama ETC in New York a Public service oriented non government organization dedicated to advancing the concept of green building and the promotion of alternative clean energy sources and re-greening efforts as it promotes a national movement for mobilizing a citizens agenda of carbon and water cutting footprints with the Economic Reform & Development Advocates Philippines, Inc. (ERDA Philippines) as a supportive coordinating secretariat. To fight environmental degradation and poverty, the award winning Radyo Balintataw on DZRH serve as a broadcast media and global webcast outreach to the masses. Through performance and literary arts coupled with relevant interviews it help popularize scientific data to engender an earth-saving agenda. In line with the UNESCO Education for All policy, Radyo Balintataw also serve as an effective weapon of environmental peace. It has established the Father Neri Satur environmental Heroism awards and the Lamp of Culture recognition while it participates in relevant international conferences particularly the COP Meetings organized through the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and related programs of UNEP and UNISDR. |
